World Kindness Day
Celebrate World Kindness Day on Tuesday November 13, 2012 with an act of kindness! World Kindness Day encourages people from around the world to be kind to family, friends, neighbors, coworkers and others. You will quickly notice a rippling effect of kindness rubbing off on others, and this promotes even more kindness. According to the World Kindness Movement website, World Kindness Day is intended to “build a kinder and more compassionate world”. World Kindness Day was conceived from a series of conferences held in Tokyo, Japan in 1996-1997. These conferences, led by Dr. Wataru Mori, brought together kindness groups from around the world. Dr. Mori envisioned that a peaceful and more empathetic world could be achieved if a unified global movement was ignited. Currently the World Kindness Movement has 20 kindness groups with representatives from Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, India, Italy, Japan, Nepal, New Zealand, Nigeria, Oman, Scotland, Singapore, South Korea, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom and the USA. The mission of the World Kindness Movement is to inspire individuals towards greater kindness and connect nations to create a kinder world.
