Mayan Calendar

Much speculation has been made concerning the Mayan calendar and its reference to the “end date” of December 21, 2012. These speculations have not been made by the Mayan Elders but by others struggling to decipher and interpret the many Mayan petro-glyphs, hieroglyphs and the Sacred Books of ‘Chilam Balam’

According to Mayan Elder and Ajq’ij (ceremonial priest and spiritual guide) Carlos Barrios of the Eagle Clan and his fellow  elders, the world will not end, “It will be transformed.”

On this date everything will change, it is a day of rebirth and the beginning of the World of the Fifth Sun. Our rebirth will be marked by “the solar meridian crossing the galactic equator and the Earth aligning itself with the center of the galaxy.”

“At sunrise on December 21, 2012 for the first time in 26,000 years the Sun rises to conjunct the intersection of the Milky Way and the plane of the ecliptic. This cosmic cross is considered to be an embodiment of the Sacred Tree, The Tree of Life, a tree remembered in all the world’s spiritual traditions. Some observers say this alignment with the heart of the galaxy in 2012 will open a channel for cosmic energy to flow through the Earth, cleansing it and all that dwells upon it; raising all to a higher level of vibration. Carlos reminds us: “This process has already begun. Change is accelerating now and it will continue to accelerate.”

“We are no longer in the World of the Fourth Sun (materialism), but we are not yet in the World of the Fifth Sun (Ether). This is the time in-between, the time of transition. As we pass through transition there is a colossal, global convergence of environmental destruction, social chaos, war, and ongoing Earth Changes. Humanity will continue, but in a different way. Material structures will change. From this we will have the opportunity to be more human. We are living in the most important era of the Mayan calendars and prophecies. All the prophecies of the world, all the traditions are converging now. There is no time for games. The spiritual ideal of this era is action.”

During this time of action, groups and communities from around the globe must unite to support life and light. There must be tolerance, respect, peace and balance. We must take care of the earth and elect officials who will take the political action needed to preserve the planet and its inhabitants.

Carlos advises one to eat wisely, as a lot of food has been tainted. One should also learn to see the energy in all things that are around us; in the plants, animals and trees. As we draw closer to the World of the Fifth Sun and its Ether element, it is important that one must sense or see energy.

This is an imperative moment for humanity and for Earth. Each person is important and must take action now. Even the simplest of acts can have a profound effect on our future
